Six Reasons To Say NO to Vaccination

Vaccination is an extremely controversial topic these days.     Whatever side of the aisle you may fall with regard to your opinion about vaccination, one thing is for certain.    The choice to vaccinate or not to vaccinate is a decision that has the potential to greatly impact the health of you and most importantly, your children for the rest of their lives.

As a result, this decision should not be taken lightly and it should not be made in a vacuum.   In other words, don’t just take your pediatrician’s word that shots are safe.    It is possible for doctors to be wrong.    They are human, after all.   In reality, your doctor is simply parroting the standard line about vaccination from the American Medical Association (AMA) playbook.    If you think you are getting their honest assessment, think again.
You should neither assume shots are dangerous just because your friend down the street doesn’t vaccinate her kids.
The key here is education;  making an informed decision by investigating the facts with an open mind and knowing exactly what you are getting yourself into before you commit to do anything.
With that in mind, the list below will briefly detail to you the reasons why I did not vaccinate my own children and will never consider a shot for them for any reason even in the event of a so called “pandemic.”    Please remember that I come from a medical family.   My own Father (retired) is a MD as is my brother and my cousin (who was a pediatrician, now deceased).    My husband’s mother is a nurse.    There is no shortage of opinions on this subject in my family, I can assure you.
So, don’t use family pressure as an excuse to do what you need to do once you investigate the facts for yourself and make an informed decision.   There is no more foolish choice than to do something because it is someone else’s wishes and not your own.    It is your body, after all and these are your children.   There is no one on earth who knows what is best for them except you and your spouse – not even and most especially not your doctor!   Make your decisions feeling confident in this knowledge.
#1:   Pharmaceutical Companies Can’t Be Trusted
Let’s just list a couple of the (many) times over the past 10 years where a drug or drug regimen has been deemed unsafe and downright dangerous and yet the pharmaceutical companies covered it up FOR YEARS in order to continue raking in the profits for as long as possible.    This should be an easy task.
How about hormone replacement therapy for women?    The standard of care for a menopausal woman for over 40 years was HRT.   Even women with no complaints were advised that this treatment was helpful as it reduced chances for a heart attack and cancer and even helped them feel younger.    Were any, I repeat ANY of these claims true?   Not a whit.   Breast cancer risk is doubled for women on HRT,  41% increased risk for stroke, 29% increased risk of heart attack, and the list goes on and on.
How about Vioxx?    Before this dangerous drug that caused thousands of deaths from heart attack and stroke was finally removed from the market, evidence surfaced that Merck had withheld information and even doctored reports on its dangers years before.    As of November 2007, Merck had agreed to pay $4.85 billion to settle approximately 27,000 cases from victims claiming injury or death of a family member using Vioxx.    While this is a huge sum of money, in reality it represents less than one year’s profits for Merck.   Does it pay for a drug company to lie about a drug’s safety and efficacy?   You betcha.    The risk of payouts to victims from getting sued is lower than the lure of huge and long lasting profits while a drug’s patent protection remains in effect.
I could cite other examples, but I’m trying to keep this post as pithy as possible.   Please comment if you have other examples of pharmaceutical company deceit.    It will help others reading this blog who might still be on the fence about this issue.
Remember the old proverb, “Fool me once, shame on you;  Fool me twice, shame on me”?    These corporate behemoths have proven themselves to be completely untrustworthy based on past behavior.   In a court of law, if such a company were an actual witness, an attorney would never put them on the stand due to a serious lack of credibility.   Are you really going to take these companies at their word that these shots are safe when money and profits are impacted by their answer?
#2:   ALL Vaccines are Loaded with Chemicals and other Poisons
Here is a list of some of the damaging ingredients in the vaccines on the market today:
MSG, antifreeze, phenol (used as a disinfectant), formaldehyde (cancer causing and used to embalm), aluminum (associated with alzheimer’s disease and seizures), glycerin (toxic to the kidney, liver, can cause lung damage, gastrointestinal damage and death), lead, cadmium, sulfates, yeast proteins, antibiotics, acetone (used in nail polish remover), neomycin and streptomycin.  And the ingredient making the press is thimerosol (more toxic than mercury, a preservative still used in many vaccines, not easily eliminated, can cause severe neurological damage as well as other life threatening autoimmune disease). These vaccines are grown and strained through animal or human tissue, like monkey and dog kidney tissue, chick embryo, calf serum, human diploid cells (the dissected organs of aborted fetuses), pig blood, horse blood and rabbit brain.
Can you imagine injecting this stuff directly into your child’s blood?   At least if you ate these ingredients, your body would have a chance to detoxify and eliminate them before any permanent damage could be done.   But, to inject them right into the blood is the most damaging and lethal approach imaginable.    How could anyone possibly think injection of such a cocktail of poison could in any way help preserve and enhance your child’s health?
It sure didn’t make any sense to me.    And, here I am 12 years later, still very happy with my decision NOT to vaccinate my children.
Sadly, I know many Moms with 20/20 hindsight who greatly regret their decision to vaccinate.    I don’t know ANYONE who has not vaccinated and regrets their decision, however.     Which group do you want to be a part of in 10 years?
#3:   Fully Vaccinated Children are the Unhealthiest, Most Chronically Ill Children I Know
One thing that completely confounds me is that there are no studies comparing the health of unvaccinated children to the health of vaccinated children.  This seems like such an obvious study and it should have been conducted decades ago.    Why hasn’t it been done yet?   My guess is because the health of the nonvaccinated children would so totally blow away the health of the vaccinated children that the discussion about the dangers of vaccines could finally be put to bed and the case would be closed emphatically in favor of those that accuse shots of causing chronic illness and auto immune disease.
Take an informal poll of the folks in your circle and see for yourself.   Observation is a powerful tool, so put it to use.   The kids with the most problems – allergies, asthma, ADHD, autism, coordination and other gross motor issues, etc sure seem to be the ones that are right on track with their vaccination schedule, don’t you think?
Even more powerful, ask Moms with several children, some of whom are vaccinated and some who are not.    In my own circle, the Moms I know who have one or two older kids who are fully vaccinated and the younger kids who did not get any shots tell me that, hands down, that the unvaccinated children are healthier and have less problems.
Someday there will be a study that shows that unvaccinated children have many less health problems than their vaccinated peers.   Don’t wait until this study is finally done because it will be too late for your child.
#4:   Other Countries Are Waking Up to the Dangers of Vaccines
In 1975, Japan raised its minimum vaccination age to 2 years old,    The country’s infant mortality subsequently plummeted to such low levels that Japan now enjoys one of the lowest level in the Western world (#3 at last look).    In comparison, the United States’ infant mortality rate is #33.
In Australia, the flu vaccine was recently suspended (April 2010) for children under 5 because an alarming number of children were showing up in the emergency rooms with febrile convulsions or other vaccine reactions within hours of getting this shot.
Need I say more?
#5:   A Number of Vaccines Have Already Had Problems/Been Removed from the Market
Here is a brief list of some of the vaccines that have caused serious injury in recent years.   Please comment with others that you know of if they are not on this list:
- In Feb 2002, GlaxoSmithKline removed the Lyme Disease vaccine from the market citing poor sales when in fact a number of folks who received the vaccine reported symptoms worse than the disease itself such as incurable arthritis or neurological impairment.
-  The Rotavirus vaccine (Rotashield) was removed from the market in 1999 due to an association between the vaccine and life threatening bowel obstruction or twisting of the bowl!   Interestingly, my pediatrician at the time (who was a lifelong friend of our family) had highly recommended that this vaccine be given to my newborn baby at the time.   I trusted my instincts and said no to the shot – am I glad I did!    My pediatrician (remember, lifelong family friend) subsequently dropped me as a patient.   Guess he wasn’t such a friend after all!
- A warning was issued concerning the second Rotavirus vaccine (Rotateq)  in 2007 as it caused the same twisting of the bowel problem in 28 infants (16 of which required intestinal surgery).    This second vaccine has not yet been removed from the market as far as I know.
- Another vaccine that has had a lot of problems but is not yet withdrawn is the Gardasil vaccine for adolescent girls.    Fainting, paralysis, slurred speech are just a few of the reactions reported and yet this vaccine continues to stay on the market.   At least 1600 adverse events have been reported since its approval in 2006, yet doctors are continuing to recommend this shot to their patients.   Why this vaccine hasn’t already been removed from the market is astonishing.
If the vaccines above have had serious problems, the others probably do too as vaccine manufacturers follow the same basic formula when coming up with each new shot.
#6   You Can Always Get Vaccinated, But You Can Never Undo a Vaccination
Procrastination is usually considered a character flaw, but in the case of vaccination, delaying the decision for as long as possible plays to your advantage.    The longer you wait to vaccinate your child, the better.   A child’s immune system continues to develop for years after birth.    The blood/brain barrier does not fully develop until adolescence.     The longer you wait, the more likely your child’s immune system will be able to handle the onslaught with minimal damage.
If you don’t know what to do, don’t do anything!
Conversely, you can never undo a vaccination.   There are holistic therapies that can detox a child from the vaccine’s poison, but the damage that is done can never be 100% repaired.    And, I have NEVER met a fully vaccinated child that is healthier and more robust than a well nourished, unvaccinated child.   Period.
While I would like to convince you to never vaccinate your child, if I can simply convince you to delay it for a few years that is certainly better than vaccinating a baby.     If you can simply commit to waiting until your child is school age to vaccinate, so much the better than if you vaccinate as a toddler and so on.   Time is on your side and waiting is the best policy when it comes to shots.
By the time your child is older, more research will have been done, you will have an opportunity to learn more and become more comfortable with your decision to wait.    Who knows?    Your attitude of wait and see may turn out to be permanent.

The Right Way to Feed Babies

The “Experts” Have it All Wrong
If there is anything that our modern culture gets totally wrong, it’s how to introduce solid food to babies.   Pediatricians, dieticians, and other “experts” are quick to recommend that the perfect first food for babies at about the age of 4-6 months is rice cereal.   Not only is this advice completely misguided, it is also extremely harmful to the long term health of the child, contributing greatly to the epidemic of fat toddlers and the worrisome childhood obesity problem in general.
Rice cereal is not a healthy first food for babies.    Not only is it an extremely high glycemic food (spikes the blood sugar) but it also contains ample amounts of double sugar (disaccharide) molecules, which are extremely hard for such an immature digestive system to digest.   The small intestine of a baby mostly produces only one carbohydrate enzyme, lactase, for digestion of the lactose in milk.   It produces little to no amylase, the enzyme needed for grain digestion.
What happens when a baby’s digestive system doesn’t properly digest a food?   It rots, yes ROTS in the gut feeding all manner of pathogenic bacteria and fungi ushering the child quickly down the path to allergies, asthma, eczema, and other autoimmune disorders.    I have nicknamed this syndrome “Garbage Gut”.     Over time, the pathogens and their toxins create holes in the gut wall allowing the toxins to spill directly into the blood creating an unpredictable mix of neurological symptoms.    Dr. Natasha Campbell-McBride MD’s book Gut and Psychology Syndrome examines in detail the link between an imbalanced, pathogen dominated gut environment and abnormal behavior and/or autoimmune disorders in children.
Interestingly, avoidance of allergies is one of the reasons cited by pediatricians for using rice cereal as the first food!    While rice may be gluten free, it is by no means disaccharide free and can contribute to the development of allergies and other autoimmune disorders just the same as a gluten containing cereal such as wheat or spelt.     This is why going “gluten free” does not solve digestive ailments in the majority of children with auto immune issues linked to grain allergies.   This approach may reduce symptoms somewhat, but it does not solve the problem entirely as the disaccharide molecule is still present in high amounts in non gluten containing grains and a similarly hard to digest starch molecule is present in grain substitutes such as potato flour, arrowroot, bean flours, etc.
Why then, is rice cereal so very popular as a baby’s first food?    One reason is that it is so readily accepted by the baby (who wouldn’t like a food that spikes the blood sugar?   It is a bit of a “high” after all) and it fills them up like a lead brick leading to longer and more frequent periods of sleeping and more passive behavior in general.    Be aware that there are still some misinformed doctors that advise mothers of babies that do not sleep well to introduce rice cereal as early as 3 months old – sometimes right into the baby bottle if the tongue thrust reflex hasn’t yet disappeared preventing the baby from taking food off a spoon!   This is a recipe for childhood weight problems if I’ve ever heard one.
If your baby zonks out right after eating on a frequent basis, this is a major clue that what the child has just eaten was not easily digested (this goes for breastfeeding too .. a poor diet that is not digested well by the breastfeeding Mother will result in toxins in her breastmilk which will have an opiate like effect on the child).  Dr. McBride’s book mentioned above discusses this huge issue of toxins from undigested food and gut pathogens in the breastmilk as well.   The same goes for adults, by the way.   If you get sleepy after eating, it’s because what you just ate isn’t getting handled very well by your gut.   The body is basically compensating for the brick in your stomach by putting you to sleep so that a sufficient amount of energy can be diverted to digestion.
So What is the Right First Food for Babies?

A baby’s digestive system is much better equipped to handle fats and proteins than carbohydrates.   For this reason, a wonderful first food for babies is a soft boiled egg yolk from a pastured hen.   Take care to only use the yolk and not the egg white which contains difficult to digest proteins.   For my own children, I started giving a taste of a soft boiled egg yolk from my own plate starting at about 4-6 months old.  Just a taste!   If the child is completely uninterested, then try again in a week or two.    If  the child likes the little taste that you put on her tongue or lip, then give her two tastes the next day and three tastes the next day, gradually building up to the entire egg yolk.   Never force the child to eat.   Remember that egg yolk is an extremely rich food and force feeding any rich food can cause the child to vomit.
Egg yolk from pastured chickens contain ample amounts of omega 3 fatty acids and natural cholesterol which are critical to a child’s mental development and may be lacking in breastmilk depending on the quality of the mother’s diet.    Children who receive sufficient omega 3 fats in their diet tend to speak clearly and understand verbal direction from the parents at a very early age.

At about 6 months of age, a bit of raw, grassfed beef or buffalo liver can be grated into the warm egg yolk for baby to eat.    This mimics the traditional practice of African mother’s who would chew raw liver and then give small amounts to their babies as a first food.    Make sure that the raw liver is frozen for a minimum of 14 days as recommended by the USDA to eliminate any concern over parasites.    Mashed banana is also a wonderful carbohydrate to add around this time as banana digests very easily due to the copious amounts of amylase present – no need for baby’s small intestine to produce it herself.
At the age of 10 months or so, pureed meats, fruits and vegetables can be added.   These foods should be introduced one at a time to reduce any chance of a reaction.  Best also to avoid high starch veggies like potatoes and sweet potato, which contain very complex starch molecules which are much more difficult to digest for baby than non starchy vegetables.    Take the time to make your babyfood at home with organic ingredients and mash the veggies with some deep yellow, grassfed butter.   Consumption of veggies with a bit of healthy fat like butter increases mineral absorption tremendously!   You can freeze your homemade babyfood in ice cube trays for a quick thaw in a small sauce pan (not the microwave!) for fast and nutritious meals.    Homemade soups made with real chicken, turkey, or beef broth rank as one of  the most nutritious foods for babies to be eating at this age.    The gelatin in the homemade broth is protective against any intestinal bugs that baby may be exposed to and it also facilitates digestion.

When Should Grains be Introduced?

I would recommend delaying any introduction of grain based foods and starchy vegetables for as long as possible.   Some experts advise that the child be 2 years old before being given these foods to eat.     Whatever you decide, it is wise to forgo them until well after the first birthday.   Even then, the grains should be properly prepared (either sprouted, sour leavened or soaked) to ensure maximum digestibility through breakdown of the starch, gluten and antinutrients such as phytic acid.
It will take every ounce of your will power to keep the grain based foods out of your child’s mouth until well after her first birthday (the longer the better).    Teething biscuits, cheerios, crackers, and bread are all favorite foods for moms to feed as soon as the child can sit up in a high chair and grab from a plate.    The first thing most Moms hand to a baby in a high chair at a restaurant is a piece of bread from the bread basket.    Don’t do it!    Resist the temptation to use these foods as a pacifier for your child and commit to offering only truly nourishing fare at such a young age.    The time will come soon enough when the child will have more control over his/her food choices, so wisely use this time of complete control to make sure every calorie your baby eats is nutrient dense and easily digested!

Skip the Fruit Juice!

On a final note, whatever you do, skip the fruit juice!     Fruit juice from the store, even if organic, is just sugar water (all the nutrition has been pasteurized away) and only serves to spike the blood sugar and increase the risk of obesity.    It also kills the child’s appetite for hours, even a day or two.   Many a Mom has told me that when she took away the fruit juice, within a few days, her picky eater suddenly started eating!
The one exception would be freshly pressed juice diluted with some filtered water.    Fresh fruit juice is full of enzymes and nutrition and would be an acceptable drink for baby on occasion after age 10 months or so.

Vaccinations

There are three primary arguments in support of vaccinations but upon further look they start to look less convincing.

Vaccines Protect Against Disease
In some cases vaccines may certainly provide an element of protection but by and large many of the diseases children are being immunized against are fairly rare and would not likely be encountered anyway. Immunity is also not guaranteed to be effective and even if it may provide immunity for a short time it can lose its effectiveness late in life, requiring further vaccinations. Many people still get measles, rubella, diphtheria, pertussis, tetanus and other common diseases even after they have been vaccinated.

Vaccines are Responsible for the Decline in Infectious Diseases
It is often said that without vaccinations we would never have gotten a handle on disease epidemics of the past such as small pox but research clearly shows that many infectious diseases began to disappear long before vaccination came into practice. The decrease in disease had much to do with improved quality of living, better nutrition, and improved hygiene.

Vaccines are Safe
There is an alarming amount of evidence mounting that shows that vaccines are anything but safe. They contain many questionable and unhealthy ingredients such as Thimersol (Mercury), Formaldehyde, MSG, and aluminum. These ingredients and others work to actually compromise the immune system…not strengthen it. There are also numerous vaccine complications reported every year such as severe temperatures, uncontrolled screaming, seizures and convulsions, brain damage, and death. There is even data to suggest that vaccines cause neurological disorders such as epilepsy and autism and they have been heavily linked to SIDS (Sudden Infant Death Syndrome) as well.
VAERS (Vaccine Adverse Events Reporting System) was put in place by the Federal government to collect data about vaccine problem and injuries and in many cases you use pharmaceutical money to pay restitution.

When you take all these factors into account you may ultimately question conventional medical wisdom and decide that vaccination may be too risky in the long run.

Routine Newborn Procedures- Are they necessary?

Routine Newborn Procedures- Are they necessary?

Suctioning
For most hospital births, it is routine procedure to suction the baby's mouth and nose as soon as the head emerges on the perineum, in advance of its full birth. Either a deep suction hose or a bulb syringe will be used to extract any mucus or meconium that may be present.
According to the International Guidelines for Neonatal Resuscitation (2000), only approximately 5-10% of newborns will require some degree of active resuscitation (stimulation to breathe) at birth, which can vary from simple skin rubbing to suctioning or full resuscitation. This in turn means that 90-95% of all newborns need no assistance breathing at birth.
While it may seem wise to suction as soon as possible, the reality is that the baby is not at great risk of breathing difficulties at this point since it will typically not take its first breath until it has been fully birthed. As long as the cord is pulsating and is not clamped, cut, nor compressed, the baby will continue to receive oxygen via the placenta until after it has been fully birthed. There is rarely a clear need to hurry the neonatal transition to breathing room air at this early stage when only the baby's head has emerged.
Suctioning can be delayed until after the baby has been born. Alternately, suctioning can only be performed when indicated rather than a routine procedure for those infants who do not need it, as most infants will be able to clear their own airways with no outside assistance. Two excellent articles that address the importance of being "hands off" at birth are:

The next and perhaps most critical newborn baby care decision to be made for your baby's welfare is cord clamping - immediate or delayed. The benefits of delayed cord clamping, which is defined as waiting until the cord has stopped pulsating until clamping or cutting it, are well-documented. Once the baby is born, its entire circulatory system undergoes an amazing transformation to allow the baby to receive oxygen via its lungs rather than through the umbilical cord - a valve in the heart closes, the lungs perfuse with blood and eventually a first breath is taken. When this delicate balance is interrupted by prematurely severing the child's lifeline, its umbilical cord, numerous undesirable side effects can occur.

All newborns are born with a low level of Vitamin K which is responsible for preventing hemorrhage by enhancing the blood's clotting ability. In a small percentage of newborns, cerebral hemorrhage can occur which spurred the universal practice of newborn vitamin K injections in the United States. There are, however, some points to ponder when considering this intervention, especially the alternative of an oral dose.

Certain metabolic disorders, including a PKU test, are routinely screened for at birth through a heel stick blood sample. These disorders have devastating effects that are best handled with early detection and treatment to ensure the best possible outcomes. This is the least controversial newborn baby care procedure since the benefits clearly outweigh the risks.

The Hep B Vaccine, a disease that is transmitted via infected blood and sexual intercourse, is given at birth in the hope of catching as many people as possible. It is not required for administration at birth and may be given at any time in childhood or adulthood. In low-risk families, it may be advisable to delay the administration to the weeks after birth, rather than injecting a minutes-old baby, causing pain as one of its first experiences outside the womb.

To prevent the chance of blindness due to gonorrhea from an infected mother, hospital-born babies are given silver nitrate or other antibiotic drops in their eyes, even if the mother previously screened negative for this or other STDs in her pregnancy. Silver nitrate causes pain, burning, swelling and blurred vision for the first days of life and in the vast majority of cases, is not needed when the mother is known to be free from infection.

If there is one newborn baby care procedure that many families never consider, it's bathing a newborn. However, this may indeed be something a new family decides to decline. The vernix which coats the baby's extremely sensitive skin is the best natural moisturizer available and will protect it from infection when massaged into the skin. Additionally, a bath can cause a baby's body temperature to drop, thus necessitating further interventions to regulate it.

Why Mila

Dr. David Nieman — Director of the Human Performance Labs for Appalachian State University at the North Carolina Research Campus—conducted a study to evaluate the effects of chia seed and omega-3s on the blood. During the seven-week study, 11 women had their blood routinely analyzed to determine if Mila omega-3 fats (ALA) could be converted to EPA/DHA (the type of fat found in fish oil) in the human body. The study proved high conversion! Furthermore, different strains of chia were compared in this study, and Mila’s fiber was "head and shoulders" above other strains with antioxidants, iron, selenium, zinc, and many other nutrients scoring higher than all other strains.

ANTI-AGING
Did you know that every ninety days your body regenerates nearly all of its seven to ten trillion cells? Aging happens when damaged cells are replicated in this process such as free-radicals. When healthy, stronger, smoother elastic cells are properly regenerated, the aging process is slowed. The anti-oxidants in Mila®:
  • Fight and neutralize free radical damage
  • Flush out age—accelerating toxins
  • Elasticize skin
  • Enhance hair, skin, and nails
  • Lubricate joints
  • Reduce muscle soreness and speeds rejuvenation
  • Lower lactic acid buildup in muscles
  • Regain youthful exuberance

GASTRO-INTESTINE HEALTH
Mila¨ is also a hydrophilic colloid (a mixture of particles which absorb a certain quantity of the fluid in which they are suspended). This important property aids in the digestion of food and helps control excess acids associated with indigestion, heartburn, and sour stomach. Mila’s unique soluble fiber content combined with its hydrophilic colloidal properties make a gel in the stomach that creates a physical barrier “lining” the stomach.

Why is what's in it so important?

Omega 3 Fatty Acids

Mila contains one of the highest, if not the highest, amounts of omega 3 fatty acids known in the plant world. In the 1970's and 1980's, the "fat-free" diet craze took all fats out of our diet, including the good ones. Now we know the impact that the healthy fats have on our general well-being. The alpha linolenic fatty acid (ALA) found in Mila is known as the only essential omega 3 fatty acid. This means that a person must consume this fatty acid because the body cannot manufacture it. The fatty acids in Mila are a near perfect balance, plus there is no cholesterol.

Fiber

A number of studies have found that a high intake of total fiber contributes to a healthy heart and circulatory system. High-fiber diets may also modulate blood sugar levels. Since fiber is filling and has very few calories, high-fiber foods may also help with weight loss.

Antioxidants and Phytonutrients

These two components have recently been recognized as being important to human health, but are not necessary for life. Of interest is the fact that phytonutrients may act as antioxidants, but not all phytonutrients are antioxidants. Antioxidants in foods can be divided into two main groups or categories, with each having similar, as well as different, benefits in terms of human health. The two groups are Vitamins and Minerals and Phenolic Compounds.

Protein

Protein is found throughout the body in hair, nails, outer layers of skin, muscle tissue, the inner structure of bones, and red blood cells. Protein is used by the body to perform many functions in the body including building and repairing body tissues, hormone production and carrying nutrients throughout the body. Mila is a great source of protein and contains both
essential and non-essential amino acids.

Is Mila unique or just like any other Chia Seed Product?

To answer that question you have to understand that the nutritional components of Mila come from various altitudes and regions in Mexico. Mila is a blend of Chia Seeds from these altitudes and regions. Some regions produce chia seeds with high Omega 3's, some high in fiber, some high in antioxidants. Mila is a proprietary blend of chia seeds. These seeds are grown to exact specifications, and are carefully selected for nutritional value. The mixture is mechanically processed using a proprietary system that optimizes bioavailability, enhancing its nutritional efficacy.

Mila is gluten-free, trans-fat free, sugar-free, high in fiber and protein, and can be deliciously combined with many foods. Loaded with omega-3s, fiber, antioxidants, protein and phytonutrients, Mila is great for your heart, bone, prostate, breast, and gastro-intestinal support. With its supreme biological properties, Mila is a plant based Omega 3 product for weight management, but it is also widely consumed for anti-aging, prenatal care, and mental health. Mila is manufactured as a high grade blend of chia seeds and that's what makes it unique. I put this to the test over a 6 month period with several manufactures of Chia Seeds. The results were astounding! Mila lives up to its name and you most certainly get what you pay for. I got what I payed for with most brands of Chia Seeds having bugs and weeds in each bag. The shelf life was limited.
